COLLISION AT INTERSECTION IN SEBRINGVILLE

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) – On Wednesday October 15, 2014 around 5:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the intersection of Huron Rd. (Hwy 8) and Avonton Road (Perth Road 130) in Sebringville, in response to a collision.

Officers determined that a tractor trailer was travelling north bound on Avonton Road crossing Huron Road when the driver’s side rear corner of the flat-bed trailer was struck by an east bound Pontiac SUV within the stop light controlled intersection.

The 66 year old male driver of the tractor trailer a resident of the Municipality of West Perth was uninjured as a result of the crash. The 46 year old female driver of the Pontiac, a Township of Perth East resident sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She has been charged with “fail to yield to traffic”, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The intersection was closed for approximately half an hour allowing for the vehicles and debris to be removed.
