Colin Ferguson – Drunk Driving

(Central Huron, ON) – Shortly before 9:30 pm on June 9th, 2011 a Huron OPP officer stopped a speeding vehicle on Londesboro Road in Central Huron. Upon speaking to the driver, the officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. The officer formed his grounds and read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied but he failed his test and was arrested for Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He was taken to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results of the tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was well above the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, Colin FERGUSON (38) of St. Catharines has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Speeding and Drive Motor Vehicle with No Currently Validated Permit. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 25, 2011. His licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute.
