(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – A male driver is facing charges following a traffic stop in Thames Centre.
On October 5, 2014 at approximately 12:45 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a white Ford pickup truck travelling eastbound on King Street. The truck was hauling a trailer which did not have rear lights.
Police conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver had been drinking alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing which revealed he had consumed more than the legal limit of alcohol.
The investigation further revealed the trailer did not belong to the driver.
As a result, Colin EELEY, age 26, from the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on November 18, 2014.
