On July 21, 2015 at 9:40 a.m., two males were arguing at a coffee shop on Silvercreek Parkway North. Witnesses inside the shop attempted to break this altercation up. One male was escorted from the premises however returned with a piece of wood and confronted the other male. A police investigation resulted in the arrest of a 55 year old male, Minh Nguyen of Guelph for assault and assault with a weapon. He was released with a court date of September 4, 2015.
Downtown Assault
In the early hours of July 21, 2015, it is alleged that a male was downtown Guelph and was assaulted by two males that were known to him. The male victim required medical attention and received two stiches to his face. A police investigation lead to the arrest of a 21 year old Guelph male, the male has been charged with assault cause bodily harm and breach of probation. A second male who also was involved in this altercation remains at large.
Drive over 80 mg – arrest
On July 21, 2015 at 12:50 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop on the Hanlon Parkway. The driver was spoken to by police and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. The male failed this test and was arrested.
A 45 year old male from Windsor Locks was arrested and charged with Over 80. He is being held for a bail hearing on July 22, 2015.
Drive over 80 mg – arrest
On July 21, 2015 at 1:30 a.m., the Guelph were notified of a possible impaired driver in the parking lot of a building in the area of Gordon and Stone. Police located the vehicle and spoke with the male driver. A demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.
Sean Sullivan, a 21 year old Stoney Creek male, was arrested for Care and Control while Over 80. He has an August 7, 2015 court date.
