(HALIBURTON, ON) – On April 9, 2016 at approximately 10:00p.m., members from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Harburn Road in the Township of Dysart et al.
After a speaking to the driver, it was determined that the male driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered and driver registered a “fail”. The driver was arrested and transported to the Haliburton Highlands OPP detachment for further breath testing.
Steven CLIFFORD, 61 years old of Dysart et al has been charged with Drive with more than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
A 90 day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on May 4, 2016.
