(ST.MARYS, ON) On Sunday September 11, 2011 shortly after 2:30 a.m. a Perth County OPP officer on patrol in St.Marys observed a GMC Sierra pickup truck driving erratically on James St. South. The officer pulled over the vehicle and spoke to the driver who displayed signs of impairment. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where two Intoxilyzer breath tests confirmed blood alcohol levels above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
Clayton Harris (24) from the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He is set to appear in Stratford Court on October 17, 2011 to answer to these charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
