(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – Members of Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the complaint of a vehicle driving erratic on the 401 Highway eastbound, west of Culloden Line at approximately 8:20 p.m. on January 21, 2015.
Police located the vehicle and as a result of investigation have charged a 53 year old female, Claudette MATTIA of South-West Oxford with the following:
Dangerous Operation of Motor – contrary to The Criminal Code of Canada
The female was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock.
The OPP would like to praise the citizen for alerting police to the vehicle being driven erratically. Drivers who engage in high risk driving behavior put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to react to change, stop suddenly and control a vehicle. In the case of a collision, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injuries or death will occur.
