(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On November 11, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m., a male attended the Strathroy Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located on Centre Road, Township of Adelaide Metcalfe.
The male had a brief interaction with an officer while at the detachment. The male left the detachment and was struck by a civilian vehicle on Centre Road. He was transported by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
As a result of this event, Centre Road is closed in both directions from Pannell Lane to Second Street, Strathroy.
