(TOWNSHIP OF CENTER WELLINGTON, ON) – On March 9, 2018 at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a male who had just shoplifted at the Hasty Market on Tower Street, in the Town of Fergus.
Officers attended and located the suspect in the driver’s seat of a stolen BMW. He was arrested for possession of stolen property. A search incident to arrest located methamphetamine and a backpack containing break-in instruments.
44-year-old Christopher WILHELM of Hanover has been charged with the following:
Theft under $5000 (shoplifting)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – over $5000
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Break in Instruments.
He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 13, 2018 to answer to the charges.
