Christopher JONES – Drunk Driving Causing Bodily Harm

(AMHERSTVIEW, ON)- On Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 5:00 a.m. a two vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Bath Road and Sherwood Avenue in Loyalist Township.

Police investigation revealed that a red Dodge pick-up truck travelling westbound on Bath Road failed to stop for the red light at the intersection and struck a white van that was travelling southbound on Sherwood Ave.

The pick-up truck rolled over the embankment on Bath Road.

The driver of the van, a 71 year-old Amherstview man, had to be extricated from his vehicle by Loyalist Township Fire Services. He was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 26 year-old Christopher JONES of Rear Yonge-Escott Township was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor-vehicle causing bodily harm and operating a motor vehicle over 80 mgs causing bodily harm.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in contact with Christopher JONES between the evening of Friday, December 11, 2015 and the time of the collision on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 5 a.m.
