(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On October 1, 2014 at 9:04 p.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was stopped on the shoulder for a traffic stop on Highway 400 in McDougal Township. A northbound silver Saturn passed the OPP cruiser which had its “emergency lights activated†and failed to move over into the empty lane. Police initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Christopher DENNIS, 43 years of age from Eldon Lakes Township, was arrested and charged with the following:
Driving with more than 80 mgs. Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and with – Fail to move over into another lane for emergency vehicle – if safe to do so, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on October 16, 2014 to answer to her charges.
