Christopher Corbett – Drunk Driving

(Howick, ON) On May 1, 2010 at approximately 3:30 am, Huron OPP officers were set up for a RIDE check on Harriston Road. A vehicle entered the checkpoint and while the officer was speaking to the driver, an odour of an alcoholic beverage could be detected on the driver’s breath. The officer read a demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of his breath. The driver complied and then failed his test. As a result, he was arrested and taken to the Listowel OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results of those tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.

Christopher CORBETT (21) of Huron East is now facing one count of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham on June 17, 2010. His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days as per statute. LP10111466
