(Central Huron, ON) Shortly before midnight on May 1, 2010 Huron OPP officers were patrolling in Holmesville when a vehicle was observed and stopped. Immediately upon speaking to the driver, the officer observed the driver to be showing signs of being impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two samples of his breath. The results of the tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level in excess of the legal limit of 80 milligrams. Further investigation revealed that the driver was a Prohibited Driver due to a prior driving conviction.
As a result of the traffic stop, Bounsab KHIAWPUANG (35) of Central Huron is now facing one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, one count of Drive Disqualified and one count of Breach Probation. He will answer to these charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 26, 2010. The motor vehicle that KHIAWPUANG was operating has been towed and will remain impounded for a period of 45 days. LP10112365
