(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On Saturday June 4, 2016 at approximately 7:30pm an e –bike was stopped by an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer in Coboconk.
An investigation was commenced and the driver was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offences:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC
Resist Peace Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the CCC
Fail to Wear Proper Helmet on Power-Assisted Bicycle contrary to section 103.1(2) of the Highway Traffic Act
Charged is 25 year old Christopher BALDASSARRE of Ajax. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 7, 2016.
