(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP, On)- Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene of a late afternoon Christmas day cottage fire along with members of the Georgian Bay Township Fire Service on King’s Farm Road in Georgian Bay Township.
Area neighbours called 911 for Emergency Services at 5:27pm December 25, 2014 after noting a fire had broken out which eventually totally engulfed a nearby cottage that was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Due to the value of the loss which has been estimated at 1.2 million dollars, members of the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office have been contacted and will be attending to assist local fire officials in determining the cause of the fire which is not considered to be suspicious in nature at this time.
