(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On May 10, 2016, 11:09 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a suspicious male lying in a ditch, near a children’s park area on Colonization Road in the Town of Blind River.
Police attended the area and located an intoxicated male. While the male was being arrested, he became assaultive and resisted arrest. Police used a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) to take physical control of the male and the arrest was made.
Ryan Ross CHIBLOW, 29 years of age, from Blind River, Ontario was charged with:
Assault a Peace Officer, contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
Resist Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code; and
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 7, 2016.
