Cheryl GRANT – Drunk Driving

(Champlain, ON) – In the night of Sunday November 3rd, shortly after 3 am, Hawkesbury OPP received a call of a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 4 in the Township of Champlain.

Constables Yan Faille and Danyk Lafrance responded to the scene just east of Hawkesbury. The lone driver of the vehicle was found walking outside her vehicle uninjured.

The interaction with the driver gave the officers reason to believe that the driver was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested. Further investigation revealed that the driver had blood alcohol content over the permitted limit.

The vehicle was seized for 7 days and her driver’s licence immediately suspended for 90 days.

Cheryl GRANT (48 yrs) of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, QC, was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with the following sections:

– 253(1)(b) – Blood Alcohol Content Exceed 80 Milligrams.

– 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired

– 249(1) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

She was later released on a promise to appear in court on December 4th, in L’Orignal.
