Cheap Gas Price Leads To Collision

Police received a call for a motor vehicle collision in the area of Bayview Drive at Mapleview Drive. When police arrived they learned that a driver noticed the gas sale at a new gas station at the intersection. The driver attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by another car.

The frugal driver attempted to have the other involved driver lie to police about who was driving his vehicle. He called someone to the scene to pretend they were driving and he fled the area with the 2 kids that had been in the car at the time of the collision. As it turns out he had taken the vehicle without consent of the owner as it was not insured and he was under suspension.

Police are continuing with their investigation but have learned the identity of the driver and have told him that he will be charged criminally with Attempt to obstruct justice, Public Mischief, Take vehicle without consent and numerous offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
