The Chatham Kent Police and Chatham Kent Fire Services responded to a structure fire in the city of Chatham this morning.
Around 2:30 a.m this morning police received a call about a roof on fire on Twilight Trail in the city of Chatham. The home was currently under construction and being built, there were no occupants of the residence at the time of the fire. The cause was determined to be not suspicious damage is estimated at $100 000.00.
Theft of Copper Wire CK15030598
At approximately 10:03 p.m. last night unknown person entered a hydro one compound in the city of Chatham. While inside unknown person removed $800.00 worth of Copper Wire from the yard.

Break and Enter CK15030523
Sometime yesterday between 07:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) entered a locked shed on Oak Street in Wallaceburg. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a red and white Honda 80cc dirt bike.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Initiative CK15030618
On October 10th, 2015 Police conducted spot checks within Chatham. Attention was directed on detecting & reducing Impaired Driving. Approximately 47 vehicles were checked, with no related offences or infractions.

October 9th -12th, 2015 will mark ‘Operation Impact’, a national campaign to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world.
This special weekend is a police initiative designed to remind people that an essential part of the enforcement job is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways. Educating the public in safe driving practices is a priority. The focus will be on behaviours that put drivers, passengers and other road users most at risk: impaired driving, seat belt use, and all aspects related to aggressive and distracted driving. All enforcement agencies across the country have been invited to participate.
