Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – December 27, 2015

Break and Enter in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent Police were called to a Wallace Street home in Wallaceburg on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at approximately 6pm in regards to a break and enter. Unknown person(s) entered the home through an unlocked window and stole a computer, various other electronics and jewellery. At this point there are no suspects, but anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Rod Louzon at [email protected]. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.

Man Arrested for Breaching Conditions

On Saturday, December 26, 2015 at approximately 11:17pm, police were called to a residence on Hyslop Street in Chatham in regards to a disturbance. When police arrived, they located a 46-year-old Chatham man walking away from the residence carrying several cans of beer. Upon further investigation, police found the man to be bound by a condition prohibiting him from possessing alcohol. The man was arrested and brought to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.

Stolen Vehicle from Howard Township

Police are on the lookout for a stolen vehicle that was taken sometime overnight on December 25, 2015 in the town of Morpeth. The vehicle is described as being a 2004 silver Ford Freestar van with Ontario licence plate BXSE 720. The van also has a contractor-style roof rack and contains a number of tools inside. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Mark Smith at [email protected] or to call police at (519) 352-1234.

Man Arrested for Intoxicated in a Public Place

Police were called to a business on Main Street in Ridgetown at approximately 0300hrs this morning in response to reports of an intoxicated male. Chatham-Kent Police located a 20-year-old Ridgetown man who was intoxicated and in no condition to care for himself. He was arrested and brought to Chatham-Kent Police where he was lodged until sober.

RIDE program initiated in Chatham-Kent

Chatham-Kent Police conducted a RIDE program last night which saw 180 vehicles checked. Two roadside alcohol tests were administered and no charges were laid.
