Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – August 15, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 156 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 2 people were arrested.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) CK15024612

Last night, officers conducted a RIDE spot check at various locations within the Municipality. A total of 450 vehicles were stopped, there were 5 Road side test administered with a total of one 7-day suspension issued and 4 various provincial offence notices.

Woman Arrested on Several Outstanding Warrants CK15024568

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on numerous outstanding warrants for failing to comply with conditions of undertaking x 18, failing to comply with recognizance x2 and failing to attend court.

Just after 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, officers located the woman in Blenheim, and she was taken into custody. The 28-year-old woman has been held pending a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15024645

Around 5:00 a.m. this date, police responded to a single vehicle collision on Towanda Blvd near Seventh line in Blenheim.

No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $6,000.

A 38-year-old Harwich Twp woman was charged with careless driving.

Dangerous Conditions

Due to last night’s storm, Chatham-Kent Police officers were dispatched to a number of uprooted trees, power lines down throughout the Dresden and Wallaceburg area there were no reports of any injuries.

Great Lakes Police Motorcycle Training Seminar.

Chatham-Kent Police will be hosting the Great Lakes Police Training Seminar from August 19 – 22nd. The seminar is organized by volunteers from various Southern Ontario police services including Toronto, Peel Regional, Waterloo Regional, Durham Regional, York Regional, Chatham-Kent, Ottawa, London, Greater Sudbury, R.C.M.P., O.P.P. and the Ontario Police College. This group hosts an annual police motorcycle training seminar that provides both theoretical and practical police motorcycle instruction. On the final day of the Seminar there is a competition to test the participants on the knowledge and skills that they have learned. This event is open and free to public spectators.
