Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 27April2017

The Chatham-Kent Police responded to 137 calls for service within the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK17014219

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. last night, police responded to the area of Grand Avenue and Michener Road in Chatham in regards to a suspicious person. An officer observed the man wearing all dark clothing riding his bicycle westbound on Grand Avenue West. A traffic stop was conducted as the man was riding with no light on his bicycle. Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for property related offences and failing to attend court.

Joseph Rokebrand, 29 years, of Riverview Drive in Chatham was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of May 5, 2017.

Theft of ATV CK17014110

Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday night, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked barn on Longwoods Road and stole a blue and grey 1996 Honda 400 TXR Forman ATV. The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plate 58LF7 and had a gun rack mounted on the front.

Tools Stolen from Garage CK17014107

On April 14, 2017 unknown suspect(s) entered an open garage on Riverview Line and stole a Milwaukee sawzal and three cordless drills. Total value of the theft has been estimated at $500.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK17014184

Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street between Willowmac Avenue and Eugenie Street.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $7500.

A 28-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.
