Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 20Mar2017

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 94 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested.

Woman Charged with Assault CK17009295

Yesterday around 1:30 p.m. the woman and her boyfriend were at their house in Chatham when they became involved in an argument. The argument escalated and the woman lunged towards her boyfriend, knocking him off his feet. As a result, he fell down a stairway causing his elbow to bleed. Police were called and minor injuries were reported by the boyfriend.

The 42-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she has been held for a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Assault CK17009310

Yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m. police responded to a family dispute at an address in Chatham. Through investigation it was learned that the man had hit his dad. Medical attention was not required.

The 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.

Traffic Enforcement in Chatham CK17009278

Last night in the area of Keil Drive North and McNaughton Avenue West, 125 vehicles were stopped to ensure all drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts.

Seat belts save lives. Please drive safely and buckle up.

Uniforms Unite to Save Lives

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent O.P.P., Chatham-Kent E.M.S. and Chatham-Kent Fire will be donating blood for the 7th Annual Blood Donor Campaign being held throughout the month of April.
