Woman Charged with Assault CK16001463

Last night, the woman and her common-law became involved in a verbal argument which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. The woman punched and kicked the man several times while at their Orchard Heights residence.

Through investigation, the 25-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK16001469

On December 16, 2015 the man was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

This morning, shortly after 2:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Thames Street in Chatham. Through investigation, the man was found to be a passenger in the vehicle and he was arrested. The 31-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Break and Enter CK16001406

Sometime within the last year, unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked garage on Riverview Line in Chatham and stole a pump action, Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun and decommissioned grenade. The shotgun was removed from a locked locker and was last seen with a trigger lock attached.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16001405

Around 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Langstaff Line near Water Street in Chatham Township. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $10,000. A 72-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16001408

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Little Street South near Lamarsh Street in Wheatley. Total damage was estimated at $3000. A 35-year-old Wheatley man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
