Man Turns Himself in on Outstanding Warrant CK16003788
In November of 2015, the man was involved in a conversation with the victim during which time he made threats to cause the victim injury. Police investigated the matter and were unable to locate the man at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Yesterday morning around 9:00 a.m. the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in. The 28-year-old Walpole Island man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
CK16003792 – Shortly after 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to two vehicle collision on Victoria Avenue in Chatham. There were no injuries reported. Total damage was estimated at $6000. A 52-year old Chatham woman was charged with failing to yield from a private drive.
CK16003820 – Around 5:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on which occurred near King Street West and Richmond Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated to be $1000. The investigation is continuing.
CK16003830 – At 9:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a two motor vehicle collision on Victoria Road near Highway 401 in Howard Township. There were no injuries reported. Investigation revealed that a deer had run into the path of one of the drivers who was forced to take evasive action resulting in the collision. The total damage is estimated at $4000. At 16-year old male was charged.
Man Charged with Assault CK16003802
Yesterday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. police responded to a disturbance call taking place at the Downtown Chatham Centre. Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted an employee after being directed to leave the mall. There were minor injuries reported.
The 23-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with assault and causing a disturbance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Domestic Assault CK16003817
Last night around 4:45 p.m. police responded to a domestic dispute that had occurred earlier in the day at a residence in Chatham. Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted the woman during an argument and that he stopped her from attempting to flee the residence against her will.
The woman did not require medical attention.
The 26-year-old Chatham man was later located and charged with forcible confinement, assault and breaching his recognizance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
