Motor Vehicle Collision CK17012002

The collision involving a pedestrian on Base Line near Splinter Line, just outside of Thamesville remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Management Unit. It occurred yesterday morning at approximately 6:00 a.m.

Anyone who observed a slender man, wearing a brown coat and walking with a stick yesterday morning around 6:00 a.m. is asked to contact Constable Ron Tricker at [email protected] or at 519-355-1092. Man Charged with Assault CK17012030

Yesterday shortly after 11:00 a.m. the man and a woman he has been in a relationship with became involved in an argument inside their Chatham home. The argument escalated and the man struck the woman. The altercation continued outside within their front yard which was observed by a citizen. Police were called. No injuries were reported.

Upon the arrival of the officer, the 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault. He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and later released with a court date of Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK17010273

In February 2017, the man was placed on an order not to communicate with a woman who is known to him while he remained in custody at a Detention Centre.

On Saturday, February 18, 2017 the woman received a text message on her cell phone from the man who was still in custody. At the time the message was received, the woman did not know that the man was bound by a non-communication order. However, once she learned of this, she called police.

The 32-year-old Chatham man was released from the Detention Centre yesterday and immediately arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was held for a bail hearing.
