Man Charged with Break and Enter CK16003241
Yesterday morning around 9:00 a.m. police responded to a break and enter at Picard Construction on Park Avenue West in Chatham. Unknown suspect(s) entered the fenced compound and stole approximately $300 worth copper wiring.
Upon examining the damage to the chain link fence, two large spools of copper wiring were found to have been left behind. All of a sudden, the man was observed sneaking through the wooded area, returning for the spools of wiring. The man fled on foot as soon as he saw police. The officer followed the man and found him hiding behind trees at Columbus Estates on Park Avenue.
The 40-year-old Chatham man was charged with break and enter. He was transported to the court house pending a bail hearing.

Sometime over the past weekend, unknown suspect(s) entered a home under construction on King Street East. The suspect(s) stole rolls of wiring and packages of laminate flooring with a total value of approximately $1000.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16003292
Around 5:00 p.m. last night, emergency crews responded to a collision involving a vehicle and cyclist on Wallace Street between McDougall Street and Bridge Street in Wallaceburg.
The 53-year-old Wallaceburg cyclist sustained minor injuries.
The driver, a 56-year-old Port Lambton man was not injured.
The collision remains under investigation.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Poplar Street near Sandys Street in Chatham.
Minor injuries were reported. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.
A 61-year-old Chatham woman was charged with careless driving and driving with no license.
