Charles DEVORE – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 24, 2016 at approximately 12:06 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2005 Dodge Caravan on Scotland Drive in Fergus, Centre Wellington Township that was reported to have open liquor in the vehicle.

While speaking to the driver police detected alcohol on his breath and observed signs of possible impairment. Empty beer cans were also observed inside the vehicle. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to a nearby OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

46-year-old Charles DEVORE of Mapleton Township has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Driving While Under Suspension x2 contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 30, 2016 to answer to the charges.
