Charles BOWERING – Drunk Driving

(LAKESHORE, ON)— The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore responded to a call from a motorist regarding an erratic driver on November 27, 2015 at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Highway 401 eastbound near French Line (Essex County Road 31) in Lakeshore.

Officers found the vehicle, a burgundy pickup truck and spoke to the lone male occupant and driver. He exhibited signs of impairment and was issued a Roadside Screening Device Demand which he registered a “fail”.

He was arrested at the scene.

Charles BOWERING, age 46 of Lakeshore was charged with Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content, Drive Motor Vehicle Open Alcohol Readily Available (Liquor Licence Act) and Fail To Surrender Insurance Card (Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act). He will appear in a Windsor court on December 8, 2015 to answer to the charges.

The OPP would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Essex County for their ongoing efforts to assist police agencies in stopping drunk drivers. Police rely on the public to alert officers of suspected impaired drivers now, during the holiday season, and throughout the year.

“Getting drunk drivers off the road is really a community undertaking. If you suspect someone has been drinking and is about to drive, please call your local police agency so we can get them off of our area roadways.” says Essex County Detachment Commander Glenn MILLER.
