Charges Laid In Vehicle Entries

(BRIGHTON, ON) –Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several incidents involving unlocked vehicle entries between August 12th & August 15, 2015. Owners have reported thefts of cash, an iPod and sunglasses. In one incident on Saturday night, an unlocked blue pickup truck was stolen and driven into a hydro poll near the Brighton Industrial Park. There appeared to be several occupants who likely sustained injuries. The truck has since been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.

As a result of the ensuing investigation, Northumberland OPP Street Response Team (SRT) has arrested three individuals who are charged with a variety of offences:

1) 19 year old Brighton man is charged with Theft of Motor vehicle, Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000, Fail to Stop at scene of accident and Mischief Under $5,000 X3.

2) A 15 year old male youth from Brighton is charged with Theft of Motor vehicle, Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000, Mischief Under $5,000 X3 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2.

3) A 16 year old male youth from Brighton is charged with Theft of Motor vehicle, Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000, Mischief Under $5,000 X3.

All accused were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brighton on October 6, 2015.
