(Hwy# 62 Madoc Twp) – On December 2, 2013 Central Hastings O.P.P investigated a two vehicle collision on Highway #62 just north of Highway# 7 in Madoc Township. A southbound vehicle towing a homemade trailer lost control, crossed the centre line and struck a northbound vehicle. The northbound vehicle then entered the east ditch and struck a rock cut. The homemade trailer came off the southbound vehicle and went into the ditch. Three people were transported by ambulance to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
At the time of the crash, false information was provided to officers. As a result the driver 37 year old Jason CARROL of Madoc, ON was charged with Careless Driving, Driving While Under Suspension and Fail to Furnish Required Information contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
In addition the vehicle owner, 37 year old Jennifer MICHENER of Madoc, ON was charged with Obstruct Officer contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
