(TOWNSHIP OF ESSA) – At approximately 3:30 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of 3 vehicle collision at the intersection of 5 Sideroad and County Road 56 in the Township of Essa.
A grey coloured Toyota pick-up truck was travelling eastbound on the 5th sideroad and after stopping at the stop sign at County Road 56, was attempting to make a left turn to go northbound when it was struck by a vehicle travelling south on County Road 56. After the initial impact the pick-up truck then struck a third vehicle which was stopped westbound on the 5th sideroad. The pick-up then flipped over onto its roof.
The occupants of the southbound vehicle and the eastbound vehicle were transported by ambulance to hospital but none with any serious injury.
Charged with Careless Driving is Daniel Roffey, age 39, of Barrie, Ontario. He will appear in Provincial Offences Court at a later date.
Fire Services also attended scene to assist. All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
