Charges Laid In Fatal Collision

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – Charges have been laid in connection with the ongoing investigation into the fatal collision involving multiple vehicles that occurred three kilometres south of Pointe au Baril on July 25, 2015 on Highway 69 in The Township of the Archipelago.

The collision occurred when a northbound pick-up truck attempted to pass two trucks pulling campers and was forced to swerve to miss a southbound Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). The SUV swerved into the northbound lane and hit the northbound truck head on.

The driver of the pickup truck, Heather NOGANOSH, 34 years of age from Magnetawan First Nation has been charged with:

· Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Death contrary to the Criminal Code (CC) (2 counts).

· Causing Death by Criminal Negligence contrary to the CC (2 counts).

· Criminal Negligence causing Bodily Harm contrary to the CC.

· Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm contrary to the CC.

The accused was released and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice of Parry Sound on September 17, 2015 to answer to her charges.
