(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 29, 2014, just after 9:30 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting radar enforcement on Highway 401 eastbound near Drake Side Road.
The officer observed a Chevrolet vehicle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. Radar was used to confirm a speed of 163 km/hr.
Joseph COSTANTE, age 30, from Windsor, ON, has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
