(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motorcycle collision at a Highway 6, Woodhouse, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, May 20, 2016 at approximately 4:50 p.m., OPP. Norfolk County Fire Services and Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a 20-year-old male of Norfolk County, Ontario was operating a motorcycle and was travelling westbound on Highway 6 when he collided at the intersection of Blueline Road with a pickup truck that was being operated by a 34-year-old male of Norfolk County, Ontario.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Police have charged 34-year-old Nathan Darryl FEERE of Norfolk County, Ontario with fail to yield right of way contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
“Motorcycle riders lack the same protection found in a car or truck and these collisions can be extremely serious. In many instances, motor vehicle collisions could have been avoided if the other vehicle involved had been paying proper attention.”- comments Inspector Zvonko Horvat, Norfolk County OPP Detachment Commander.
