(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On March 18, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle driving up and down the 8 Line E, near Inverhaugh in the Township of Centre Wellington.
Officers located the 2017 Toyota and while speaking with the driver detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
21-year-old Chantell ROWAN of Waterloo has been charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, contrary to the Criminal Code. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 4, 2017 to answer to the charge.
A 90 day drivers licence suspension and a 7 day impound of the vehicle were also invoked as per statute.
