Central Hastings OPP Press Release

(Tweed ON) – On December 3, 2016 at 10:10 a.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway # 37 at Thomas Street, Thomasburg in the Municipality of Tweed.

A northbound pickup truck initiated a left turn from Highway # 37 on to Thomas Street in the path of a southbound pickup truck causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Two occupants of the southbound truck were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the northbound pickup truck, a 62 year old Plainfield, ON man was charged with Driving Under Suspension and Careless Driving.

BREAK AND ENTER

(Tudor, ON) – Sometime between November 27, 2016 and December 2, 2016 a residence on Highway # 62 near Old Hastings Road in Tudor and Cashel Township was broken into. Unknown person(s) forced entry to the home where a large quantity of tools was stolen.

DISTURBANCE LEADS TO CHARGES

(Madoc, ON) – On December 2, 2016 at 6:05 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P were dispatched to a disturbance involving a male and female in a convenience store on Durham Street South in the Village of Madoc.

As a result of the investigation it was discovered that the male involved 42 year old Craig COY of No Fixed Address was breaching conditions imposed by the courts. COY was subsequently arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 3, 2016.
