Carjacking

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is currently investigating a Robbery at a Concession Road #2, York, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Friday May 1st, 2015 at approximately 2:30 pm police were contacted by a concerned citizen after their vehicle had been stolen at gun point.

Investigation has thus far revealed that two unknown males attended the Concession Road #2 address and were in the process of stealing a car when the owner approached in a black 1996 Dodge pickup truck. The truck was approached and a rifle was pointed at the driver who exited the vehicle. The suspects fled the area in the pickup truck. They were last seen travelling westbound on Haldimand Road #9. The Dodge pickup was located abandoned at a Haldimand Hwy #54 address. The suspects fled the area on foot crossing the Grand River. A short time later a 2013 Ford SUV was reported stolen from a River Road, York, Haldimand County, ON address.

The OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to the area and conducted a search for the suspects with negative results. During the search officers were able to recover a stolen firearm and other property from break and enters in the Niagara Region.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect #1

· First Nation male

· 20’s year of age

· Approx. 188 cm (6’2”) tall

· Weighing approx. 100 kgs to 105 kgs (220 – 230 lbs)

· Husky build

· Black buzz cut hair

Last seen wearing blue jeans, and a beige t-shirt style hoodie

Suspect #2

White male

170 cm (5’7”) tall

Weighing approx. 68 kgs (150 lbs)

Last seen wearing a small rim ball cap and white rimmed sole, running shoes.
