(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On May 8, 2016 at approximately 8:18 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Southgate Road 12 near Grey Rd. 14 in the Township of Southgate involving a 2009 Chevrolet cargo van. A loaded shotgun was found next to the driver’s seat. The lone driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries and released.
As a result of the investigation, 55-year old Francisco LUIS of North York, Ontario, was charged with the following offences:
– Breach of Firearms Regulation – Transport Firearm Carelessly
– Unlawfully Have Loaded Firearm in Conveyance
– Careless Driving
– Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 2, 2016.
