(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Officers from the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were busy on local roadways yesterday having to deal with seven different motor vehicle collisions.
All of the collisions were property damage only collisions resulting in no injuries except for a pedestrian/car collision.
At approx. 6pm on the 27th of November 2013, two pedestrians were crossing Front Street in Trenton around the Elgin Street area. A vehicle was exiting a parking lot adjacent to the pedestrians and turned left to go northbound on Front Street. The vehicle went around the first pedestrian but struck the second pedestrian knocking her to the ground.
A 76 year old Trenton female was transported to hospital by ambulance were she was treated and released for undisclosed injuries.
A 50 year old Trenton resident was charged with careless driving.
