(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Sunday November 9th, 2014, at approximately 2:30pm Quinte West OPP responded to a mischief and theft complaint on Old Highway 2. Sometime between 2:00pm and 2:30pm an unknown person smashed a window and stole a purse out of a parked vehicle at a conservation area on Old Highway 2, west of Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
Anyone with information regarding the person responsible for this mischief and theft should contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
The OPP is encouraging the public to follow a few simple tips from the “Lock-it or Lose-it†initiative to help prevent thefts from motor vehicles. Never leave valuable objects or packages in plain view. Put them in the trunk. These thefts are crimes of opportunity that are unnecessary and are very easily prevented.
