(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant detachment investigated an incident at an Airport Road, County of Brant, Ontario address.
On Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at approximately 11:37 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen after an unknown male attempted to steal their vehicle.
Through the course of investigation it was determined that at approximately 11:37 a.m., the owner of a pick-up truck heard a noise outside the building that they were working in and looked out the window and observed an unknown male inside a pick-up truck tampering with the ignition.
The owner of the truck went outside and confronted the male inside a GMC Sierra pick-up truck that was parked on the property. A physical confrontation ensued with the male at which time the driver of a silver coloured Trailblazer that was waiting in the parking lot drove their vehicle into the victim.
The suspect was able to run to the awaiting silver coloured Sports Utility Vehicle which then fled southbound on Airport Road. Responding officers located the vehicle however the vehicle failed to stop when officers activated their emergency equipment.
The silver coloured Trailblazer was located abandoned at a Pinehill Drive, County of Brant address shortly thereafter.
The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.
The suspects involved in this occurrence are both being described as, male, Native, early 20’s, thin builds, wearing dark coloured hooded sweaters, jeans and were wearing face masks covering the facial area up to the nose.
Police are continuing to investigate and have received additional reports from community members in the County of Brant area regarding their vehicles being stolen and attempted theft of vehicles.
