Car Dumped In Lake Simcoe In Front Of Witnesses

Date: Monday, December 15, 2014 – 6:10pm

Om Monday at approximately 6pm, the police were called to attend the lakefront near the Sprit Catcher in regards to a car that had just drove into the lake. Officers attended the area and discovered a half submerged vehicle in Lake Simcoe. Witnesses reported that the male drove the vehicle across a walking path narrowly missing some pedestrians prior to jumping from the vehicle which then coasted into the water. One witness told the officers that the male had threatened to run her over during the incident. The male was located walking on Dunlop St. He was arrested without incident and is now facing charges of dangerous driving, uttering threats, fail to comply probation and an outstanding warrant of arrest held by the OPP. In addition the South Simcoe Police Service are investigating this individual in relation to a fail to remain accident earlier on Monday afternoon. He will be in bail court on Tuesday morning.
