(RED LAKE, ON) – On Thursday November 6th, 2014 the Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Red Lake Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a Red Lake residence.
Police located marihuana, prescription medication and a large amount of cash within the residence.
As a result of the investigation Lynn GRANSTROM age 51 of Red Lake, Ontario was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, 2 counts of production of a controlled substance contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. GRANSTROM was remanded into custody.
Also Candice HOCHSTETLER, age 20 of Red Lake, Ontario was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Production of Marihuana contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. HOCHSTETLER was released from custody and is to appear in Provincial Court in Red Lake on January 29th, 2015 to answer to the charges.
