Calvin George MCCONNELL Facing Numerous Charges

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Haldimand County Detachment have charged a 22-year-old male after police stopped a vehicle at a Highway 3, Cayuga, Haldimand County, Ontario, address.

On Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at approximately 4:23 p.m., an officer was westbound on Highway 3, and was operating an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) vehicle, which detects licence plates in poor standing.

As the officer was travelling westbound on Highway 3, the ALPR vehicle alerted the officer to a licence plate. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated.

As a result, police have charged 22-year-old Calvin George MCCONNELL of Stoney Creek, Ontario with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, disobeying court order, fail to surrender insurance card, fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, drive motor vehicle-no licence and use plate not authorized for vehicle.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
