Caller Helps Get Drunk Driver Off 401

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On July 12, 2015 at approximately 1:38 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to a vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 401, drinking what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage.

Officers located the vehicle west of Westchester Bourne, and initiated a traffic stop.

Police determined the male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.

As a result of the police investigation, 41-year-old Nieto ALFARO, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on August 11, 2015.
