(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently completed the investigation pertaining to a two vehicle collision which resulted in one driver being charged with a Highway Traffic Act related offence.
On August 4, 2013 the OPP attended a motor vehicle collision on Portage Road, west of Water Street, in the former Eldon Township. Initial investigation indicated that both vehicles were travelling west bound on Portage Road when a Volkswagen CTI drove into the rear of the motorcycle in front of it. The passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
As a result of the investigation Hugo FERREIRA, 26 years of age, of Toronto, was charged with Careless driving and received a three day licence suspension when he registered a warn on the approved screening device.
