Brockton Man Arrested After Driving Into Lake Simcoe – Alcohol A Factor

(ORILLIA, ON) – On April 9, 2017 at approximately 2:53 a.m., members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report that a motor vehicle had driven into Lake Simcoe in the area of Olive Crescent.

Police located this motor vehicle a black Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck and entered Lake Simcoe locating the sole occupant the driver a 28 year old male with minor injuries.

A further investigation into the driver of this motor vehicle Police quickly determined that he was operating it while under the influence of alcohol.

Charged with Impaired Operation” and “Exceed 80 mgs.” under the Criminal Code of Canada is Benjamin DIETRCH
