(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Saturday, June 6, 2015, at approximately 8:46 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a mischief complaint after a unknown male youth was observed tagging a bridge with graffiti located on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club (OFSC) trail off of Hwy. 6 & 10, near Circle Drive, in the Municipality of Meaford, shortly before police were called.
The suspect was described as being approximately 16-17 years of age with dark hair and glasses. He was wearing a red jacket and carrying a red backpack, and was last seen leaving the area on a mountain bike towards Owen Sound. Red spray paint was used to tag the bridge.
Graffiti, which is a Criminal Code office, is the willful damage or destruction of property and can be punishable for up to a 10 year prison sentence.
Respect your community …… no one has the right to damage someone else’s property.
