(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 25 year old male driver from Zurich is facing an Over 80 charge following a traffic stop on November 30, 2014. At approximately 1:15 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a Pontiac Sunfire on King Street in Hensall to conduct a sobriety check on the driver.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently transported to the Exeter OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 25 year old Brent DUCHARME from Zurich has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on January 29, 2015. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded.
